Back On Board

Good morning everyone!

I am sorry for the gap between posts, we have been sooooooooooooo busy!!
We now have our bedroom done for the exception of a putty job around the
window. In the bathroom, the backer board was laid, and the tile is now on the floor, we also have the lights that will go above the mirror on! HURRAY!

Timothy's birthday was on the 20th and our family went to celebrate at Chuck E. Cheese.

Check out myMom's Blog at http://www.linesfromthevine.com

Random Thing You Did Not Know About Our Family

We do not have big birthdays every year, instead Mom and Dad throw milestone birthdays. Our milestone birthdays are as follows:

1, 5, 10, 13, 16, and 18.

Today's Task

Dust Bedroom
Finish School
And work on our websites

Today's Scripture Meditation

Col 4:1-18CHAPTER 4
1 Masters, provide your slaves with what is right and fair, because you know that you also have a Master in heaven.

2 Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.

3 And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains.

4 Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should.

5 Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity.

6 Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.

7 Tychicus will tell you all the news about me. He is a dear brother, a faithful minister and fellow servant in the Lord.

8 I am sending him to you for the express purpose that you may know about our circumstances and that he may encourage your hearts.

9 He is coming with Onesimus, our faithful and dear brother, who is one of you. They will tell you everything that is happening here.

10 My fellow prisoner Aristarchus sends you his greetings, as does Mark, the cousin of Barnabas. (You have received instructions about him; if he comes to you, welcome him.)

11 Jesus, who is called Justus, also sends greetings. These are the only Jews among my fellow workers for the kingdom of God, and they have proved a comfort to me.

12 Epaphras, who is one of you and a servant of Christ Jesus, sends greetings. He is always wrestling in prayer for you, that you may stand firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured.

13 I vouch for him that he is working hard for you and for those at Laodicea and Hierapolis.

14 Our dear friend Luke, the doctor, and Demas send greetings.

15 Give my greetings to the brothers at Laodicea, and to Nympha and the church in her house.

16 After this letter has been read to you, see that it is also read in the church of the Laodiceans and that you in turn read the letter from Laodicea.

17 Tell Archippus: "See to it that you complete the work you have received in the Lord."18 I, Paul, write this greeting in my own hand. Remember my chains. Grace be with you.(NIV)

A New Week

Hello Everyone!

Lately, we have been out of pocket. My birthday was on Saturday, and our Grandmother came out. In addition, we have continued to work on the bathroom. The tiling seems to be coming along nicely, as it now almost covers half the bathroom. We have also been working on remodeling Mine and Jacob's bedroom.

Be sure to visit my Mother's Blog at http://www.linesfromthevine.com/
Also, be sure to visit my Sister's Blog at http://oneofthebunch.blogspot.com/

Today's Task

Finish Housework,
Prepare for my Birthday party tomorrow night,
and clean up from dinner.

What I Am Learning

How pasta is made, I never knew it only took two ingredients !

Prayer Requests

First, please continue to pray that this baby inside of mom will grow up big and strong.
Also, that we can continue to do repair work on the house without jumping any major hurtles.

Today's Scripture Meditation

Deut 4:1-491 Hear now, O Israel, the decrees and laws I am about to teach you. Follow them so that you may live and may go in and take possession of the land that the LORD, the God of your fathers, is giving you.2 Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the LORD your God that I give you.3 You saw with your own eyes what the LORD did at Baal Peor. The LORD your God destroyed from among you everyone who followed the Baal of Peor,4 but all of you who held fast to the LORD your God are still alive today.5 See, I have taught you decrees and laws as the LORD my God commanded me, so that you may follow them in the land you are entering to take possession of it.6 Observe them carefully, for this will show your wisdom and understanding to the nations, who will hear about all these decrees and say, "Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people."7 What other nation is so great as to have their gods near them the way the LORD our God is near us whenever we pray to him?8 And what other nation is so great as to have such righteous decrees and laws as this body of laws I am setting before you today?9 Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.

Be sure to visit Mom's Blog at: http://www.linesfromthevine.com.
Also visit my Sisters blog at: http://oneofthebunch.blogspot.com

Today's Task

Some house remodeling work
And zone clean up

Prayer Requests

Please pray that our family with have a swift recovery.
Also that we get the bathroom project done soon!

(NOTE: If you have a prayer request just leave a comment, and I will put it in the blog.)

Today's Scripture Meditation

Job 5:1-27
1 "Call if you will, but who will answer you? To which of the holy ones will you turn?
2 Resentment kills a fool, and envy slays the simple.
3 I myself have seen a fool taking root, but suddenly his house was cursed.
4 His children are far from safety, crushed in court without a defender.
5 The hungry consume his harvest, taking it even from among thorns, and the thirsty pant after his wealth.
6 For hardship does not spring from the soil, nor does trouble sprout from the ground.
7 Yet man is born to trouble as surely as sparks fly upward.
8 "But if it were I, I would appeal to God; I would lay my cause before him.
9 He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted.
10 He bestows rain on the earth; he sends water upon the countryside.
11 The lowly he sets on high, and those who mourn are lifted to safety.
12 He thwarts the plans of the crafty, so that their hands achieve no success.
13 He catches the wise in their craftiness, and the schemes of the wily are swept away.
14 Darkness comes upon them in the daytime; at noon they grope as in the night.
15 He saves the needy from the sword in their mouth; he saves them from the clutches of the powerful.
16 So the poor have hope, and injustice shuts its mouth.
17 "Blessed is the man whom God corrects; so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.
18 For he wounds, but he also binds up; he injures, but his hands also heal.
19 From six calamities he will rescue you; in seven no harm will befall you.
20 In famine he will ransom you from death, and in battle from the stroke of the sword.
21 You will be protected from the lash of the tongue, and need not fear when destruction comes.
22 You will laugh at destruction and famine, and need not fear the beasts of the earth.
23 For you will have a covenant with the stones of the field, and the wild animals will be at peace with you.
24 You will know that your tent is secure; you will take stock of your property and find nothing missing.
25 You will know that your children will be many, and your descendants like the grass of the earth.
26 You will come to the grave in full vigor, like sheaves gathered in season.
27 "We have examined this, and it is true. So hear it and apply it to yourself."

Tuesday!

Hello Everyone!

Well, we didn't get the tub in yesterday. UGH! But we did get the backer board cut, and we found the pipe wrench dad needed. So our new goal is to have the tub in before the end of the week.

Last night, my mom made sourdough bread. Then we took the leftover dough and made cinnamon rolls. Those are Soooooooooooooooooo good!!!! So I decided to share the recipe!

This recipe is from my mom's blog.

Sourdough Bread

The recipe for this sourdough starter is as follows:

3/4c sugar
3T instant potato flakes
1c warm water
3 pkgs. dry yeast, dissolved in 1/2c warm water

Mix together and pour into a jar with a loose covering and refrigerate. In 3-5 days, you will need to feed it.

The feeder recipe:

3/4c sugar
3 T instant potato flakes
1c warm water

After adding the feeder ingredients, leave the jar sitting our, loosely covered for 8-12 hours. After the sitting time is up, if you are going to make the bread, stir the mixture and pour one cup of the starter mixture into a large bowl. Put the rest of the starter back into the fridge. If you are not making bread at this time, either give away a cup of the starter or pour it out.

Now, you are ready to bake bread!

Sourdough Bread Recipe:

1c starter
1/4c sugar
1/2c oil
1 1/2c warm water
1T salt
6c bread flour (you can substitute at least half with whole wheat if you would like)

Mix all ingredients well, then place in a large, well oiled bowl to rise. This dough should be soft and sticky, not a ball like some bread dough. Pat the top of the dough with oil and cover with plastic wrap. Allow to rise for 8-12 hours.

After the first rising, gently punch down and knead the dough a few times right in the bowl. Divide the dough into 3 or 4 parts, then knead each on a floured surface 12-15 times. Place into greased loaf pans, or on a greased baking sheet. Pat the tops with oil again, and cover loosely. Allow to rise again for 8-12 hours.

Bake at 350^ for about 30-35 minutes until the tops are well browned but not burned. Brush the tops with butter while they are still warm.

Additional Notes:

Do not use metal containers or utensils with this recipe.

If your starter becomes a little sluggish, you can add 1/2 pkg. yeast, 1t sugar and 1/4c warm water in addition to the regular feeder.

Random Thing You Didn't Know About Our Family

We are in the process of starting our own web store, I will post a link when it is finished.

Today's Task

Prepare for electronics tonight
Straighten the house

Today's Scripture Meditation

Phile 1:1-25CHAPTER 1
1 Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy our brother, To Philemon our dear friend and fellow worker,2 to Apphia our sister, to Archippus our fellow soldier and to the church that meets in your home:3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.4 I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers,5 because I hear about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints.6 I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ.7 Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the saints.8 Therefore, although in Christ I could be bold and order you to do what you ought to do,9 yet I appeal to you on the basis of love. I then, as Paul-- an old man and now also a prisoner of Christ Jesus--10 I appeal to you for my son Onesimus, who became my son while I was in chains.11 Formerly he was useless to you, but now he has become useful both to you and to me.12 I am sending him-- who is my very heart-- back to you.13 I would have liked to keep him with me so that he could take your place in helping me while I am in chains for the gospel.14 But I did not want to do anything without your consent, so that any favor you do will be spontaneous and not forced.15 Perhaps the reason he was separated from you for a little while was that you might have him back for good--16 no longer as a slave, but better than a slave, as a dear brother. He is very dear to me but even dearer to you, both as a man and as a brother in the Lord.17 So if you consider me a partner, welcome him as you would welcome me.18 If he has done you any wrong or owes you anything, charge it to me.19 I, Paul, am writing this with my own hand. I will pay it back-- not to mention that you owe me your very self.20 I do wish, brother, that I may have some benefit from you in the Lord; refresh my heart in Christ.21 Confident of your obedience, I write to you, knowing that you will do even more than I ask.22 And one thing more: Prepare a guest room for me, because I hope to be restored to you in answer to your prayers.23 Epaphras, my fellow prisoner in Christ Jesus, sends you greetings.24 And so do Mark, Aristarchus, Demas and Luke, my fellow workers.25 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.(NIV)

A New Week.

Good Morning!

As I said in my last post, we have been working on our bathrooms. Here is a picture to show you our progress.

This is a picture of mom's tiled walls.

This is a picture of the doors we are painting in our bathroom.

Not quite finished yet :)

And this a picture of 1 of the outlets dad fixed yesterday.

Tonight, we are going to try to get the tub installed. Pray for us on this one, we really need to get it in.

Random thing you didn't know about our family.

We use square foot gardens. Here is a picture of those!

Today's Task

Our first task is to put the bathtub in.
Get the house straightened up before when dad gets home.
Possibly straighten the yard, I don't know if we are going to get that far!

Today's Scripture Meditation

2 Tim 2:1-26
1 You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
2 And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.
3 Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.
4 No one serving as a soldier gets involved in civilian affairs-- he wants to please his commanding officer.
5 Similarly, if anyone competes as an athlete, he does not receive the victor's crown unless he competes according to the rules.
6 The hardworking farmer should be the first to receive a share of the crops.
7 Reflect on what I am saying, for the Lord will give you insight into all this.
8 Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is my gospel,
9 for which I am suffering even to the point of being chained like a criminal. But God's word is not chained.
10 Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.
11 Here is a trustworthy saying: If we died with him, we will also live with him;
12 if we endure, we will also reign with him. If we disown him, he will also disown us;
13 if we are faithless, he will remain faithful, for he cannot disown himself.
14 Keep reminding them of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen.
15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.
16 Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly.
17 Their teaching will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus,
18 who have wandered away from the truth. They say that the resurrection has already taken place, and they destroy the faith of some.
19 Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: "The Lord knows those who are his," and, "Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness."
20 In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for noble purposes and some for ignoble.
21 If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be an instrument for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.
22 Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
23 Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels.
24 And the Lord's servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful.
25 Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth,
26 and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.

Saturday!

I decided to go ahead and post for tomorrow, because we will probably very BUSY over the course of this weekend. If you have not read on my Sister's blog or my Mom's blog we have been remodeling the master bathroom. So far, we have repaired parts of the water damaged floor, and began tiling the inner part of the bathroom. This weekend's main goal is to get a tub in are bathroom before Monday. This is simply because, it's pretty hard to shower 10 people in just 1 small bathtub!!!!

Random Thing You Didn't Know About Our Family

We use the buddy system, just like when you are swimming you have a swimming buddy,
when you are below the age of 7 you have a big buddy. They help you get dressed, show you how to do your chores, and help keep track of you when you are in public.
(This makes Mom's job A WHOLE LOT EASIER!!!!!!) When you first become a big buddy you will need to be trained how to be a big buddy. So we have senior buddy's to teach the big buddy's how to manage and teach the little buddy's. This way the house stays cleaner, and organized!

Today's Task

Bathroom Work
Cook Breakfast

Today's Scripture Meditation

I Jn 1:1-10
CHAPTER 1

1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched-- this we proclaim concerning the Word of life.
2 The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us.
3 We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.
4 We write this to make our joy complete.
5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.
6 If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth.
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.

Jamestown 400

Hello Everyone!

Have you ever heard of the Jamestown 400? If not click Here
if so, our family is currently in phase 1.
WHAT A HARD TREASURE HUNT!!!!!

We have been working on it for almost 3 months now. But, we have learned a lot about
the history of Jamestown that we didn't know. Well that's all I can say about that without giving anything away :)

Random thing you didn't know about our family.

In our house to divide out who cleans what, my mom devised ZONES. Everyone in the house except for the little ones of course:) are assigned to a room that they are responsible for cleaning up!

Today's task

Finish Web work.
Finish School.
Decide what to make for breakfast tomorrow.
Clean my zone.

What I'm learning

The history of Jamestown
Changes in state.
Energy.

Today's scripture meditation.

James 3:1-17
1 Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.
2 We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his whole body in check.
3 When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal.
4 Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go.
5 Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark.
6 The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.
7 All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed by man,
8 but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
9 With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness.
10 Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be.
11 Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring?
12 My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.
13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.
14 But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth.
15 Such "wisdom" does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil.
16 For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.
17 But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.

Textured Paint..

Good Morning Everyone!

Today's house repair project has been painting our walls. (See Picture On Top.)
Textured paint is hard to put on the walls. First Courtney spreads it on the wall
then I would come back with the roller and run it over the paint. The roller has
grooves on it that gives the walls a textured finish.

In edition to painting today are family has been doing school, various web projects, my mom has been tiling, and we have been straghtening the house.

Random thing you did not know about our family.

In our house, everyone who is old enough to cook a meal does!
I cook breakfast, Jacob and Jessica cook lunch, and Courtney Cooks dinner.

What I am learning

NEVER let textured paint get on trim it is VERY hard to get off ;)

Today's task.

Work on memorizing 2 John.

Finish some web projects.

Finish School.

Today's Scripture Meditation

II Jn 1:1-13
1 The elder, To the chosen lady and her children, whom I love in the truth-- and not I only, but also all who know the truth--
2 because of the truth, which lives in us and will be with us forever:
3 Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Father's Son, will be with us in truth and love.
4 It has given me great joy to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as the Father commanded us.
5 And now, dear lady, I am not writing you a new command but one we have had from the beginning. I ask that we love one another.
6 And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.
7 Many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the Antichrist.
8 Watch out that you do not lose what you have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully.
9 Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.
10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him.
11 Anyone who welcomes him shares in his wicked work.
12 I have much to write to you, but I do not want to use paper and ink. Instead, I hope to visit you and talk with you face to face, so that our joy may be complete.
13 The children of your chosen sister send their greetings.
(NIV)

Till next time!!
